Want professional support that respects culture, identity, and context
Are struggling emotionally during or after pregnancy
Are living with the impact of birth trauma, infertility, or loss
Feel unheard or misunderstood in mainstream mental health services
Work with accredited professionals who share cultural context and lived understanding, so you don’t have to explain your identity before you can begin healing.
We recognise how race, culture, family, and community shape mental health, and we hold space for those realities with respect and care.
Support that understands birth trauma, pregnancy loss, identity shifts, and the emotional weight of early parenthood, at your pace, in your way.
You’re not just receiving therapy in isolation. We can gently connect you to trusted peer groups and local support if and when it feels right.
Confidentiality
We focus our support on parents experiencing emotional or mental health challenges during pregnancy or early parenthood.

"I kept telling myself I should be coping better. Tobi helped me understand that what I was feeling was normal — and temporary. That perspective lifted a huge weight."

"I wish I had found B3 sooner. Those early weeks were so much harder than they needed to be. The reassurance and real life support would have saved me so much stress."
Yes. Everything you share in your sessions stays private. The only exception is if there’s a serious risk to you, your baby, or someone else, and we will always discuss any necessary action with you first wherever possible.
Our counselling is available to parents living in Mid South Essex (Thurrock, Basildon, Brentwood, Southend, and Chelmsford) who are pregnant or have a child up to two years old and need emotional or mental health support. We centre Black, African, Caribbean and mixed-heritage families in this service, but we welcome any parent seeking culturally grounded support.
You can self-refer through our website, join via one of our peer support groups, or be referred by a professional who supports you. Once we receive your referral, a member of our team will contact you within a week to discuss your needs and next steps.
You’ll work with a qualified Black therapist who understands the challenges our community faces and delivers care that is trauma-informed, perinatal-aware, and culturally grounded.
Counselling is a supportive, non-judgmental space to talk about your feelings and experiences. Your therapist will listen, help you explore your emotions, and guide you toward strategies and resources that work for you (you won’t be told what to do).
